Community Involvement
Community giving is an important part of our community involvement. 3M and the 3M Foundation make cash gifts to a wide variety of worthy recipients, including the Red Cross, arts and culture organizations, environmental initiatives and K-12 education. In addition, 3M's giving has subsidiaries in each country where we do business, to administer programs that reflect the local culture and needs.
3M is proud of its robust employee Volunteer Program. About 40 percent of our employees, from all levels of the company, volunteered last year. We work to increase the impact of our employees' good works in the community by offering time matching programs and sharing information about volunteer opportunities. |

Environmental Sustainability
3M has a long history of making continuous improvements to minimize the environmental impact of our manufacturing processes and our products. Some of our initiatives include reducing our greenhouse gas emissions, producing electronics that comply with WEEE (Waste, Electrical and Electronic Equipment) and RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) guidelines and making products that help consumers lessen their own environmental impacts.
