The local subsidiary of 3M Lanka started operations in August 1994. The company commenced conducting its business from rooms at the Colombo Hilton hotel and subsequently moved to an office in Valiant Towers, Navam Mawatha, Colombo 2.
3M Lanka moved to its present office at Pelawatte, Battaramulla in July, 1996 and added its new warehouse at Kaduwela in August 1999.
The Company has introduced its diverse range of products to the Sri Lanka market including Telecom Systems, Pharmaceuticals, Home Care, Automotive After Market, Stationery Supplies, Medical Surgical and Commercial Graphics. All of 3M's core technologies have been introduced to Sri Lanka at present and the company has 23 business partners to market its products Islandwide.
